We started the whitetail breeding operation in 2005 with three does and one buck fawn. During the next four years, we live-bred a small number of does producing a nice offering. We quickly learned in order to produce a high quality deer herd, it is necessary to implement artificial insemination. In 2011, five does were bred A.I. Now twenty to twenty-five does are artificially inseminated annually.

Bontrager Whitetails mission—to produce large quality deer to harvest or sell. With this being said, we imported a higher quality line of genetics with does from deer farms in the north to include Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Missouri. The results were impressive, not only did the herd consist of quality does, but also massive whitetail bucks with huge racks. 

Our success rate is very high, hunters rave at the big bucks we produce that boast tall tines and a few extras. The large massive size is comparable to the big bodied whitetails normally seen throughout the northern and mid-western states.
